Clifford Smith

Rosenbaum Contemporary is pleased to present the work of preeminent landscape painter Clifford Smith. Images of nature in sublime motion are complemented by astute studies of contemporary industrial landscapes.

Smith paints in traditional oils on linen canvas, building layers of deep glazes that follow the motion of nature as seen in swaying tree tops or the rippling of ocean surfaces that bend and shape light before our eyes. These are the brush strokes of a master painter that not only complement the forces of nature caught in motion but may be seen as a part of this motion as well.
