“Russell Young,” an exhibition of the artist’s acrylic, oil-based ink and diamond dust hand-pulled screen prints on linen, is on view through Dec. 27 at Rosenbaum Contemporary’s Boca Raton, Fla., gallery located at 150 Yamato Road. The exhibition can be viewed during regular gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Young is a British-American artist best known for his large-scale silk screen paintings examining cultural icons, the nature of fame, and the deterioration of the American Dream as well as his use of diamond dust. Icons featured in the exhibition include Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando and Brigitte Bardot.
Young’s work has been exhibited in museums around the world including the Modern Art Museum Shanghai and the Multimedia Art Museum Moscow. It can also be found in numerous private and institutional collections including those of Barack Obama, David Bowie, David Hockney, Marc Jacobs, and The Estate of Marilyn Monroe as well as The Albertina Museum in Vienna, The Saatchi Collection in London, The Getty Collection in Los Angeles and The White House Collection in Washington, D.C. His works have also been auctioned at all of the world’s major auction houses including Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Phillips.
