A well-rounded artist, eager to explore different sectors of art, film, and music, Victor Rondón embraces an aesthetic sense of constant progress and self-reflection. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1978, he showed an interest in painting and music from an early age, studying music at the Luis Alberto Calvo School in Bogotá. In 2005 he began studies in visual arts at the Magenta Art School under the guidance of Maestro Pedro Cabrera. Since then, he has shifted between sound and visual arts, using different sensory channels to convey his messages, which he then blends into his works.
For a time, Rondón studied fine arts at the University of Tolima. Throughout his artistic career, he strengthened his approach, focusing on the painting techniques of oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas and mural, and enamel on mural and metal. In conjunction with his visual work he has played an important role in the Colombian rock scene participating in Rock al Parque three times and nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards three times with his bands Larvante and Delavil. He stood out on music channels like MTV, with the video “Musa” ranking 8th among the 10 most important videos on that channel in Latin America. He was chosen by guitarist Joe Satriani to open his concert at the Sports Palace in Bogotá, Colombia; made music for films such as "Cartas al gordo" by Dago García in Colombia; and represented Colombia in the Fox reality show "Motorocker Band Latinoamérica" in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He also continued painting. His work "Nativos," made between 2007 and 2013, was exhibited in the Department of Culture of Tolima, Colombia. In 2015, he was invited to exhibit his work "Orgánico Mecánica" at the Universidad Autónoma de Mexico. As a result of this exhibition, his itinerante work, combining music and painting, was born. He began exhibiting this series in alternative venues, combining live music and painting in the same space, including shopping malls and bars in Bogotá, Medellín, and Ibagué, Colombia. In 2016, he exhibited at the Maquila y Moda fair in Ibagué, and Viva el Arte Gallery. That same year, he won a grant from the Ibagué mayor's office for the O.M.A.I. (International Association of Art) exhibition in Mendoza, Argentina, taking his ITINERANTE work, a performance combining music and painting. With this work, he participated in O.M.A.I Peru 2017. In 2018, he toured with his band and art in different parts of the country. In 2019, he created the Galeria Puerta Azul Cultural Center with his wife. He also participated in a group exhibition, "Homage to the Bau Haus," which is on display at Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano and continues its tour through Mexico and Japan.
